People’s Response Community Market & Meeting
What is the Community Market?
Many families in our community are still recovering from property damage, displacement, and economic hardship. These challenges have been heightened by sudden reductions in food assistance. When the government fails us, mutual aid and community save us.
That is why we are launching the People’s Response Community Market to address urgent needs in North City. The Community Market will offer free groceries, hygiene items, household essentials, community resources, and a mobile relief dash. We need your support to make it happen
The Market will unfold over three days, Nov. 14th - Nov. 16th. It will offer free groceries, community resources, and a mobile dash relief for impacted residents in North City. Please see below for a breakdown of the weekend’s events.
How to Support the Market
The Market unfolds over three days, each designed to bring relief and build community power:
Friday, November 14 — Collection Day (2–7 PM)
We are collecting donations from the public on Friday. Join us in gathering fresh produce, non-perishable food, hygiene items, household necessities, and winter supplies. Please see the list below for a full donation list.
Saturday, November 15 — Organizing Meeting (10 AM–12 PM) & Community Market (12–5 PM)
We’ll begin Saturday with our 4th Organizing Meeting, where residents continue to strategize toward a just recovery. After the meeting, the Community Market will open to provide free supplies and strengthen neighborhood connections. Volunteers are needed to help support the Market. You can sign up here.
Sunday, November 16 — Community Market & Relief Dash (10 AM–3 PM)
The Market continues on-site and we need volunteers to support Relief Dash - which delivers care packages directly to homes across North City—ensuring that every neighbor in need is reached. Relief dash volunteers can sign up here.
